The financial crisis struck Iceland very hard. Its banking system had far outgrown the Icelandic Economy and its problems had severe effects on the entire country.

It has widely been assumed that the main cause of this crisis was too important free markets and economic freedom.

But are these the true reasons of the crisis? Aren´t the real causes completely different?

What is actually the Icelandic lesson from the economic and financial crisis.
